I thought it would be neat to have a forum where you can request a workout or challenge (that's in the Vault. If it's something not in the Vault I may consider creating it) from me and I'll post my recommendation below your comment. The Vault has so many videos and I know it can be daunting finding that perfect routine or merely starting a program.
So, post what kind of workout you're looking for and I'll do my best to match you with something from our vast Vault.
Hi Sean! I’ll take you up on that! I’ll let you pick out a workout or challenge for me. I really liked your 30 day power yoga and the 30 day Pilates challenge....so something along that line would be great. I also do a lot of your YouTube hamstrung stretches to keep my lumbar spine happy. So, feel free to throw something at me!
How about a new flexibility challenge?
What about lunges? A whole bunch of different types of lunges for 8-10 minutes?
And... Can you design a delightful mix of yoga and pilates for stiff master athletes who likes
shot put, hammer throw and discus, please? ;)
Good ideas. I think a 10 minute all lunge flow would be superb.
Sounds like a yoga/Pilates combo with lots of twists.
I've done lunges on a so called 360 mat. Quite interseting what changing the angle of the foot makes.
Hmmm, that sounds good. Change the angle and change the pose.
Hey Sean. Have you ever done a workout incorporating dynamic resistance? I am thinking of a "finisher workout" focusing on dynamic resistance or incorporating it in a yoga/pilates workout.
Btw, you are great!
I would really appreciate a true lifting workout series over 2 or 3 months including different Mesocycles, lifting 4 or 5 times a week. Ideally with Barbell and Db.
But also including yoga to balance it all
That would be awesome
Thank you for the short flow you recently posted from Nick's Pro Fitness where you filmed from a different angle. I suddenly realized that I've had my hands-in the wrong position for vinyasa flows. I don't go to a yoga studio. You are my only yoga instructor so that was very helpful.
Also, I would love more flows focused on balance. You have two that I do (one or the other) once per week. It has really helped with my strength. I recently turned 55 and I think that focusing on balance is crucial as we age. I would like to mix it up a bit though because I know every little tidbit you're going to say before you say it sort of like the lyrics to a song.
Thank you. Anne
Thank you, Anne. I do have some new balance routines in the works as soon as this baby comes. We are waiting...and waiting...
I'll experiment with some different angles too as I get bored seeing myself from the side.
Good luck to you and your wife and baby. Prayers for a safe and speedy delivery. Waiting for such a monotonous and exciting event can be difficult! I hope you share a few of the details with all of us Vault friends.
Congratulations a beautiful baby dane - Can you do a video on how to stretch the hips to be able to do the fire log pose. I am flexible enough but this is one pose that no matter how hard I try my legs/hips will not go there. Also can you explain why I get cramps in my feet when in some stretch poses?
You are an inspiration and I really enjoy listening to your banter as well as the serious yogalates stuff.
Martha from Ireland
Thank you so much, Martha! Fire Log is a killer for most people. Has it gotten better?
Are the cramps still happening? Those usually happens when someone starts doing exercises with a lot of foot and ankle movement.
Hi Sean. I am interested in a workout with different kind of bridges / back bends - with proposed modifications .
Hi Sean! Just joined after seeing your 20-exercise football conditioning workout on YouTube. I was looking for something to help my mostly sedentary (video games) 12-year old son begin a conditioning program for 7th grade football. He just announced to my wife and me that he wants to play and thank goodness football doesn't start for about a month, so there's time to get in condition before practices start. Would you recommend that 20-exercise plan for a kid who's not in any kind of shape or would another workout be better for him to prepare?
Welcome to the Vault! Has he tried any of the exercises in the 20 exercise plan? There’s quite a lot of fitness level variety in there.
We worked on some of those today. Within 4 weeks, I'm hoping we can get to a point where we're doing all 20 in individual workouts.
Is he getting better with the exercises?
Hey Coach. I have been thinking about a yoga with weights flow with a focus on legs/ lower body. Something akin to your 200 squat challenge but with a little yoga and and cardio thrown in. Of course it should be at least 35 minutes. Gotta feel that burn!!😉
